“For you” is the first greatest hits album by american recording artist Selena Gómez; it was released on November 24, 2014, and is her final project with Hollywood Records after signing a recording contract with Interscope Records. The album has been referenced as a “collection” rather than a greatest hits album by Gómez. The album consists of Gómez’s previous singles, two new songs, and multiple remixes of previously released material. “For you” features music from both Gómez’s solo career and her releases with Selena Gomez & The Scene. Gómez worked with Rock Mafia for the new material, having worked with them on all of her previous albums. The new tracks focus on the themes of sex and love, and are heavily inspired by her relationship with Justin Bieber.
When it was announced, a lot of hype. “Selena return to music”. But it was all hype. A recap album. Man, what a fluke.
The only good news are that first track -clearly made for Bieber- and those two remixes by Dave Audé. We knew the rest.
