“Listen” is the fourth studio album by british rock band The Kooks. It was released on 8 September 2014 through Virgin EMI Records. It is the band’s first album to feature new drummer Alexis Nuñez who joined in 2012, replacing Paul Garred.
Stylistically, the album differs from the band’s previous work as elements of jazz, gospel, and R&B were added into the music. This album also marks the first time Tony Hoffer did not produce the band’s work. Instead production was handled by Inflo, Luke Pritchard and Fraser T Smith.
The Kooks are great. And we need to push them so they cn offer us the best from them. This “Listen” disc is a good album, a remarkable album.
There are tracks that are too much (like “Down”) and there are some others that are lack of a final punch to be good (like “Westside” or “Sweet emotion”), but it’s a set that let us heard.
- “Around town” (track 1)
- “Forgive & forget” (track 2)
- “See me now” (track 4)
- “Are we electric?” (track 9)
- “Sunrise” (track 10)
